The Cambridge Diet

400 kilocalories, three meals a day prepared from special powdered mixtures. This is how the Cambridge diet, also called the diet of last resort, looks like in short. According to some, it is the only proven way to fight excess weight, while for others it is a scam for people who cannot cope with obesity. Where does the truth lie?

Bag food

The Cambridge diet is based on eating specially prepared, ready-to-eat meals (3 for women, 4 for men). They have the consistency of soup or pudding. Sometimes they are bars, juice in cartons, or a sachet of oatmeal. According to specialists who prepare the composition of the mix, it contains all the nutritional values necessary for the human body, i.e. the right dose of minerals, protein, carbohydrates, and fats.

In the first phase of slimming, which lasts from 1 to 3 weeks, their calorific value does not exceed 600 kilocalories. In the next stages, the energy value of the meals reaches up to 1500 kilocalories and is gradually enriched with dairy products and some vegetables or fruits.

The products prepared in this way are ordered in special health centers and each person enrolled in the program is placed under the care of a consultant – dietician, who helps to choose the type of diet and products, and above all, watches over the entire weight loss process.
