Skincare before sunbathing

A few weeks before sunbathing, preferably a minimum of 4 weeks before, you need to undergo a nutricosmetic treatment (a preparation that works from the inside of the body) containing beta-carotene. It is best not to stop the treatment and continue it later to maintain your tan. Just one capsule of beta-carotene per day, taken with a meal. This will reduce the risk of sunburn, and besides, the tan colour will be more intense and durable.

A few days before sunbathing, it is best to peel the skin, because it will eliminate dead skin cells. This will allow you to get an even tan. Also, it’s worth not sparing the moisturizing lotion so that the skin is smooth and soft. So that the body does not stand out from the tanned face, it is best to use bronzing balms on it.

Skincare after sunbathing

To maintain your tan after tanning, you must use moisturizing and nourishing balms. You can also use balms with a delicate self-tanner. However, avoid peeling, which works great only before tanning. To make the skin fresh and beautiful, you need to hydrate it. Therefore, during the summer you should drink 3 litres of mineral water a day.

To avoid drying the skin, take a warm shower after sunbathing. Warm water refreshes the skin and rinses sea salt, sand residues and cream residues. Leaving the body without a shower after sunbathing causes the skin to not breathe. The skin pores are clogged so that toxins cannot be excreted. Not surprisingly, showers are installed on many coastal beaches. After leaving the sea, rinse the body with sea salt.

It is important to moisturize the skin. Sunbathing dries the skin, so the most important and probably the most important cosmetic for tanning is a lotion. Such a product strongly moisturizes, soothes irritations and regenerates the skin. The best are cosmetics for moisturizing the skin in the form of creams and balms designed specifically for body care after sunbathing. Their task is to maintain proper moisture of the skin and its regeneration.

The most beneficial will be preparations enriched with vitamin E and vitamin B5, which nourish and regenerate the epidermis, as well as soothe irritation. The addition of vitamin C and E, coenzyme Q10 and polyphenols will neutralize free radicals dangerous to the skin. On the other hand, cocoa butter, walnut extracts and olive oil will further preserve your tan.

As mentioned, the neutralization of free radicals is important. Sunbathing, unfortunately, contributes to their increase. They damage healthy cells and cause skin ageing and sagging. It is therefore important to use all kinds of antioxidants that will block this process. First of all, you should take vitamins C and E and beta-carotene.

Beta-carotene, contained for example in vegetables and fruits, will naturally deepen and intensify the colour of our tan, fix it and allow it to stay for a long time. Under the influence of beta-carotene, the cells produce a dark dye that darkens the skin naturally. Such treatment will support the tanning process, which will make the skin take on a golden shade faster. Therefore, let’s enrich our daily diet with vegetables such as carrots, peppers, tomatoes, spinach, broccoli, as well as fruits such as melons and apricots.
